How to Save Money On Gas

How to save gas is a hot topic these days. Anytime that I pull into the pumps, I cringe when I realize how much I am paying for just one gallon of gas much less an entire tank full! Every person that I know has complained about gas prices myself included. However, a person can only take so much complaining before they start realizing that it is time to take action! This is the fork in the road that I eventually came to. I could go one direction, the well trodden road of constant complainers and those feeling sorry for themselves as they believe that they are the victims of the mean gas industry, or, I could take the well grown path. This is the path of those individuals that elect to quit all the complaining, and take action on how to save gas.

I took the well grown path,it is time to take action!

1. The first way that I found that you can save gas is by reducing the amount of time that you run your air conditioner. As a matter of fact, it is actually quite beneficial to just not run your air conditioner at all! The reason that this is beneficial is that it reduces the amount of work that the motor has to do to ignite the compressor that is responsible for delivering the cold air inside of your vehicle.

2. The next method that I used to save gas was turning off my motor. I had always heard the old myth that is costs more to turn a vehicle on than it does to leave it on, which is why I was one of those idle freaks. Well, I decided to turn off my car completely during idle times, and I discovered I actually had to fuel up a lot less! Anytime you are at a busy railroad crossing, in the drive through at your favorite restaurant, or just need to run back in the house to grab something avoid leaving your vehicle in idle. Turn the engine completely off. While it may only save a few cents here and there, it is a few cents that you can invest into something that will allow you more fuel efficiency!

3. Have you heard all the hype about that water for gas stuff? Well, guess what? I tried it. I really did not expect it to work because I read online that water for gas was all hype and not fact. To my surprise, I was actually able to double my overall mileage!
