1. Phil Ivey is a hopeless romantic. Grew up in New Jersey. He got married to his high school sweetheart even after making so much money.

2. He won Amarillo Slim and Phil Hellmuth in the Pot-Limit Omaha Event in the year 2000 at the young age of 23 winning his 1st World Series of Poker (WSOP) title. This was just the beginning as he went on to win three World Series of Poker titles two years later.

3. He has won one World Poker Open (WPO) tournament, two Commerce and Bellagio tournaments.

4. In the year 2005, while most people were giving thanks for their thanksgiving meal, Phil Ivey was giving thanks for his first $1million win from the 2005 Monte Carlo Millions. As if this wasn't enough, he went ahead to win an extra $600k the next day, at "The FullTiltPoker Invitational Live from Monte Carlo." finishing first.

5. He won 5 WSOP bracelets before the age of thirty making him the youngest player to achieve that. Plus, none of the bracelets won was in a Hold-em event.

6. He goes by the nickname "No Home Jerome". A nickname that was attached to him since he started playing pro poker in his teen years in Atlantic City. The nickname is said to be from a fake ID he used then.

7. As a result of his previous successes and fame, he came into full limelight when he was named as Player of Year in January 2006 by three prestigious and highly respected organizations and subsequently received three honors from them: Bluff Magazine, UK Gaming Awards and All In Magazine.

8. Phil Ivey is currently ranked as 46th in the Player of the Year ranking.

9. Before February 20 this year (2008), Phil Ivey got off to a weak start. He was down by about $473,000 losing to a fellow with the nickname "seda1" in high stakes Full Tilt Poker. However, by Tuesday night, Phil left the poker game with $800,000; of which $600,000 was pure profit. All won from "seda1".

10. Phil Ivey lives in Las Vegas with his wife.
