Back To School Orientation Day

Some new parents do not know what to expect when they are asked to attend an orientation class for newly arriving students. They think that the back to school orientation day will be long and quite tedious and take up a lot of time. They might choose to ignore the orientation and find out later about things that were discussed.

If the parents had chosen to go to the orientation, they might know what the school administration expects from their child. They might have learned that the school board adopted a uniform policy during the summer months and that every student is expected to be wearing one on the first day of school. Back to school orientation days are the perfect time for students to meet the teachers that they will have in every course they are taking. The students might have a better idea of what the class will teach them at various points throughout the year. These students also have the opportunity to be inquisitive and ask questions about the class field trips that are planned.

Parents like to meet teachers too to find out how they can help out during the school year. Some teachers need extra supplies and others might really need a small refrigerator for the class room. Some classes need room mothers that will be in charge of class parties and the trips that their child is so interested in finding out about. Orientation days make going back to school easier and more enjoyable for everyone concerned.
